New Mom Gift Basket
The other day one of my friends asked me for a non-traditional gift idea to give to her pregnant friend. I thought about something that I would have LOVED to receive, and immediately thought of a gift basket for myself ;)
Self-care may seem like the last thing on a new mom’s mind - but it really is so so important and shouldn’t be abandoned! A relaxed, refreshed mom makes a happy baby. If you have a pregnant friend, a gift basket full of things that she can use (at the hospital + at home) will be greatly appreciated. I put together a list of products I think should have a place in this theoretical gift basket. Most are available at target or amazon.
Both chapstick and lotion are new mom must haves!! Labor & delivery makes your lips super dry. Hospitals just make your skin dry in general (at least in my experience.) I would recommend non-scented, organic brands because babies just want to smell their mommies and too many other scents could be overwhelming. I personally like
Dr. Bonners Naked Lip Balm
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion **get the travel size so it’s diaper bag friendly!!
Next, epsom salts. These are a lifesaver, especially for those who have a vaginal birth. I don’t know if they offer any relief for c-section mamas, but the lavender scent in itself is really soothing also.
Dr. Teals Epsom Salt Soothe
I linked the lavender scent, but he(?)they(?) also make it in Eucalyptus & Spearmint, Pink Himalayan Salts, Coconut Oil, and Matcha Green Tea (um I want this now!!)
Cute mugs for coffee or tea! This is something that can be used forever.
Hot Mama Mug **my personal fave
Tired as a Mother
Mama Needs Some Coffee
Wife Mom Boss
Lactation Cookies. Not everyone NEEDS these, but it’s a nice thought because breastfeeding can be emotional and stressful at first. These cookies help boost your milk supply!
Milk Maker’s Chocolate Caramel
There’s also teas. I’ve used and like this one! It’s definitely the most popular.
Don’t forget hand sanitizer!!
Honest brand **once again, get the travel size!
&&& last but not least. a cute card and wine is always appreciated ;)
